Connected Commerce Council President Responds to House Judiciary Hearing Examining Competition in Digital Marketplaces

Washington, D.C. – Today the Connected Commerce Council’s President Jake Ward released the following statement in response to a House Judiciary Subcommittee hearing on innovation and entrepreneurship through the use of online platforms and marketplaces.

“The availability of affordable tools, services, and marketplaces is the difference between growth and failure for tens of millions of American small businesses,” said 3C President Jake Ward. “The digital economy is interconnected and driven by innovation at every level, especially for larger firms whose investments enable small businesses to thrive and compete. Claims of anti-competitive practices and monopolistic behavior betray a misunderstanding of how the digital world works and who benefits from it.”
