Connected Commerce Council Responds to Ohio Attorney General’s Request for Comments on Search Engines
Washington, DC (June 26, 2020) Today, Connected Commerce Council (3C) president Jake Ward responded to Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost’s Request for Comments about whether internet search engines should be regulated.
“In a letter to Governor DeWine earlier this month, nearly 200 Ohio small businesses and the Connected Commerce Council urged state leaders to put the interests of small businesses first, by ensuring their continued access to digital small business tools that are critical during our pandemic economy. It seems that our request may have fallen on deaf ears.
“Despite that, 3C and our members are ready to help General Yost better understand how digital advertising has empowered millions of American small businesses, and the unfortunate unintended consequences that disruption to the digital marketplace will have on small businesses and consumers.
“In Ohio and nationwide, small businesses need politics and headlines to be set aside so we can join forces in support of our health, our communities and our economy. We are eager to share small business stories and experiences in hopes that our collective interest will prevail.”
