3C Expresses Disappointment at AICOA’s Reintroduction

WASHINGTON (June 10, 2026) — Connected Commerce Council (3C) Executive Director Rob Retzlaff today released the following statement in response to the reintroduction of the American Innovation and Choice Online Act (AICOA).

“With fewer cosponsors since its most recent failed attempt at passage, people are catching on to the fact that AICOA remains a fundamentally misguided and deeply flawed bill that would seriously harm small businesses nationwide.

“Dismantling integrated tools and services from America’s leading tech companies will hurt small businesses and raise prices for businesses and consumers. The sponsors’ claims to the contrary reveal a troubling ignorance of how the digital economy works. Integrated digital tools and services save small businesses time and money, help them find customers, and allow them to compete with larger companies.

“AICOA would make it more difficult for small businesses to leverage the digital tools that help them grow and succeed in today’s economy. AICOA should be abandoned for a third — and hopefully final — time.”
