3C Reacts to Closing Arguments in Google’s Ad Tech Trial
WASHINGTON (Nov. 25, 2024): Connected Commerce Council (3C) Executive Director Rob Retzlaff today issued the following statement in response to the Department of Justice’s (DOJ’s) closing arguments in the U.S. v. Google LLC “ad tech” trial.
“The DOJ continues to ignore the clear realities of the online advertising ecosystem and deny the enormous value Google’s advertising tools offer small businesses.
“Far from being a Google stronghold, today’s digital ads marketplace is highly dynamic and competitive, with a number of innovative players rapidly gaining market share. At the same time, Google’s digital display-ads offer millions of small businesses unmatched value and convenience. By seamlessly connecting ad-buyers and -sellers, Google helps small businesses reach the right customers, grow, and thrive.
“It’s disturbing that the DOJ is so determined to break a system that helps millions of entrepreneurs compete and succeed. A DOJ victory would be a crushing loss for America’s small businesses and the communities they serve.”
