Joining the fight against COVID-19 in NYC
Alex Dabagh is in the heart of the coronavirus pandemic in more ways than one. He lives in New York City, the current epicenter of the outbreak in the United States, and he is a small businessman whose livelihood is at stake as Americans isolate themselves to contain the virus.
A proud New Yorker, Dabagh is determined to fight through the economic woes of the pandemic and win for his employees. But along with fellow entrepreneurs like you, he could use a boost from the government. In a column for CNN, Dabagh shared two suggestions.
He asked for guidance on how to turn his Pietro Handbags factory into an assembly line for protective masks and gowns for healthcare workers. And he appealed for well-funded grant programs instead of loans with unfriendly terms that would lead to “a slow, miserable death.”
