Naturally Nature’s Digital Journey Towards Helping the Environment
Hershey, PA
Deanna Slamans of Hershey, PA, has always had a love for the environment. When she realized how many harmful plastics were in her children’s diapers and how much waste they generated, she set out on a mission to create a more natural and sustainable option. In 2014 Deanna and her husband created their own eco-friendly diaper liner and booster pad company, Naturally Nature.
In addition to her strong work ethic and passion for the environment, Deanna leveraged tools from Amazon to become a successful online seller. She uses Amazon’s shipping and logistics service to pack, ship, and deliver all her products under the Prime badge, which guarantees 1-2 day deliveries. Deanna also invests in digital advertising to find new customers and take her business to the next level.
With the help of digital tools, Deanna says anyone can become a successful small business owner, but she’s worried about lawsuits and legislation that could make running her company harder and more expensive. She hopes policymakers understand how vital digital tools are to small businesses nationwide and that upending the digital ecosystem would have serious negative consequences.
