Small Business Group: DC Insiders Klobuchar and Grassley Will Hurt U.S. Small Businesses with Unwanted Big Tech Legislation

Jan. 12, 2022 (Washington, DC): Connected Commerce Council (3C) Executive Director Rob Retzlaff harshly criticizes the Senate Judiciary Committee’s antitrust legislation markup announcement.

“Millions of small businesses across the country have embraced digital tools and services provided by American technology companies and say they plan to continue using these tools and services that helped them get through the pandemic. Beltway insiders like Senators Klobuchar and Grassley aren’t paying enough attention and seem to not understand how these companies provide affordable, scalable, and secure benefits that small businesses like to use to find success.

“At a time when many small businesses are still struggling, Congress should focus their efforts on helping small businesses by authorizing additional low-interest loans and promoting digital skills training instead of wasting time attacking big tech with sweeping antitrust legislation.”
